I'm super duper glad you're here. If you've landed on this page, I'm hoping it means that you saw something in my work, something special enough to make you want to stick around a bit more. I've listed some Frequently Asked Questions to relieve and iron out any initial questions & concerns you may have regarding my services. If I did not happen to touch up on your question on this page, please shoot me a quick email at email@example.com or get in touch by submitting an official inquiry through my contact page (link below).
We've never gotten professional photos taken and feel a bit awkward in front of the camera... Will you be giving us direction throughout the session?
Absolutely! You'd be surprised that most of my couples that end up ~slaying~ initially admit to feeling a bit awkward about being in front of the camera. In order to help ease your guys' nerves, I take a ton of time to get to know you guys prior to our session via FaceTime, Skype sessions, phone calls, coffee dates, etc, which helps me get a better feel for your guys' relationship dynamic & personalities.
Also, I do not believe in posing my couples, but rather giving a series of directions/prompts that can be loosely interpreted based on their comfortability. I just encourage you guys to focus on each other & remember to love on each other hard, and the rest will follow.
How do we know if you’re a good match for us?
In order to find out if we're a good fit, I invite you to take some time to browse through my site, feel out my work and see what you get out of them. I hope they make you feel, as I prioritize real moments, raw emotion and heartfelt connection.
When people ask me what characterizes my ideal client, I hesitate to give a straight answer because all of my couples have been incredibly unique in their own ways. However, they did have few things in common - they were all madly in love with one another, cared for the candid, in-between frames and valued good photography. If that sounds like you & your boo, it seems like we're already half way there! If you feel inclined to get to know the kinda sorta shy person behind the camera (me) and what makes me so dang excited about photography & your love story, please head on over to my "About Me" page.
What is the role of a second shooter?
You may have noticed that all my wedding packages come with a second shooter. I prefer to bring along a second photographer to all the weddings I shoot (unless specified otherwise), because I want to make sure I am able to capture all the important moments of your big day, without being limited to the fact that I can only be at one place at a time! Why is teleportation not a thing yet?!
For example, if the bride and groom are getting ready at two different Airbnbs at the same time, I would typically be at the bride side and send my second shooter over to the groom side. Another example of when a second shooter comes in handy is when the bride is walking down the aisle during the processional of the ceremony - I (as the main shooter), will focus on the bride until she gets to the alter and my second shooter will focus on capturing the groom & audience reactions. I hope these examples give you a better idea of how I work with a second shooter on the wedding day.
Do you deliver RAW/unedited files?
No, I do not! I believe my editing style is what makes my work special and gives it its artistic value. I consider my work to be only 50% complete without applying my signature edits. I guarantee that I will never ever leave out any photos that I know you and your loved ones will want to see. Upon receiving your gallery, if you feel that I missed delivering any moments, please do not hesitate to reach out! I also try to make a point to deliver multiple similar images to give you more options to choose "THE photo" that'll get hung in your living room.
Are there travel fees associated if we want to book you for a session out of Southern California?
I am based in Ventura County & the Greater San Diego Area, but have an incurable case of wanderlust and an itch to experience different cultures and terrains! I offer discounted sessions for love stories that take me to my dream destinations, so please check out the "Bucket List" page to see if your destination qualifies.
I am willing to drive 60 miles driving distance from San Diego, CA at no additional fee. If your wedding is held outside of Southern California, I ask that you provide roundtrip flights and/or mileage, as well as lodging accommodations for a minimum 2-3 night stay. If your event takes me out of country (YAY!!), I kindly ask that you provide roundtrip flights, 3-4 nights accommodations and rental car fees and/or transportation (uber, taxis, carpool/rides, etc.)
What if we need to cancel/reschedule our wedding?
If you've already put down a deposit on a wedding date and have to cancel, the deposit (and travel accommodations, if applicable) is non-refundable.
However, if you wish to reschedule & secure a new date, as long as I am available, I will transfer your deposit and you will not have to pay any additional fees. However, please note that last minute bookings tend to have limited availability, so please reach out ASAP if you believe you may have to reschedule.
Are you able to give vendor recommendations?
Yes, yes, yes! I'd be more than happy to help you with your planning process. I know wedding planning can get real overwhelming, real quick!
With that being said, I'd love to take some burden off your shoulders and give you recommendations on some of the best vendors I've had the pleasure to work with in the past, as well as some local industry leaders that I absolutely dream of working with. If there's one thing I learned through my corporate job is that teamwork makes the dream work - it's so crucial to have vendors that understand each other stylistically & work efficiently together!
How do you accept payment?
My preferred method of payments include bank transfer (Zelle), checks, Venmo, and cash. I also accept credit card payment and PayPal as well, but you will have to pay a small processing fee. More details on how you can pay are outlined in the payment section of the Photography Contract (accessible once booked).
